This latest album begins with five jazz pieces with riffs and melodies that developed out of improvisation. What has transpired in this collection is that I usually start with a riff or part of a new melody and I keep going with it.
Where are these pieces on the jazz spectrum? Perhaps a blend of New Age and jazz? Modern jazz? Complex chord progressions, musical phrases and rhythm can contribute to labelling music as “jazz.”
Does my latest album reflect a fusion of various styles? Perhaps “eclectic” is the best description.
